When it comes to health care in the San Fernando & Santa Clarita Valley, few names are as familiar as Facey Medical Group. Made up of over 180 physicians in a wide variety of clinical specialties, they’ve built a reputation for providing connected, patient-centered care to generations of Southern California residents.
Innovative care has always been a core belief for the group, from opening their first multispecialty clinic on Brand Boulevard in 1954 to being one of the region’s first adopters of electronic health records. They were quick to embrace digital radiology and lab reporting as solutions to providing fast communication between every member of the health care team. The group chose to affiliate with Providence Health and Services in 2012 in order to coordinate care between clinics and Providence community hospitals quickly and effectively. And their flagship clinic in Mission Hills was the first medical office in Southern California over 100,000 sq. ft. to be recognized with LEED Gold™ certification.
Physicians at Facey believe in patient-centered care. They have the distinction of being voted BEST medical group by readers of the Los Angeles Daily News and the Santa Clarita Signal every year since 2009. In addition, The California Association of Physician Groups recognizes the group as an “Elite Performer” in their Standards of Excellence program. It’s a distinction that the group takes very seriously.
“It’s a big honor to be recognized by the community as their favorite for so many years in a row,” says Dr. Fredrick Russo, the group’s president. “We’re working every day to improve the quality and speed of health care for our patients, as well as the overall experience. This recognition affirms our efforts encourages us to continue forward.”
The group is opening a larger, modern facility in Tarzana at the end of 2016 with seven primary care and ob-gyn physicians, plus room to add additional specialties in the future. In 2017 the group plans to switch to the electronic health record system already in use by Providence hospitals in order to make outpatient and inpatient care more seamless than ever before.
