Fenton Avenue Charter School (FACS) became the Los Angeles Unified School District’s 7th charter and the 30th charter in the state of California in 1993. Fenton was recognized as a California Distinguished School in 1997, received WASC accreditation in 2007, 2012 and 2016, is a certified member of the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA), and continues to be recognized as an example of a successful conversion public charter school. In 2013, FACS was recognized with the “Hart Vision Charter School of the Year” award by CCSA. Students have access to three Mac computer labs, a hands-on science lab, a thriving GATE program and a music instructor throughout the instructional day.
