The people living at Horizons at Calabasas have a lot to say about how this new community – now 50 percent occupied and growing on schedule – is pioneering exciting concepts in active adult luxury apartment living. Residents say things like, “I’m so catered-to that it’s like I’m living in a classy hotel,” and “We feel like we’re on vacation!”

These residents, who are 55 and older, also have a lot to say about the vibrant, youthful community spirit that distinguishes the lifestyle here. Activities such as yoga, dancing, and art classes where participants are mentored by professional artists (who are fellow Horizons residents), or concierge services that find every kind of resource imaginable, from dog-walking and cat-sitting services (Horizons is pet-friendly) to medical care, are directed by the desires of the residents who enjoy them.

“Once Horizons reaches full occupancy, we expect that turnover here will be very low, because once people come here, they want to stay,” says Community Manager Debbie Nadon, who has worked in the luxury apartment industry for 16 years and regards Horizons as the most innovative and superior-quality community she’s ever seen.

“Part of what distinguishes us is that we’re (in a sense) letting our residents determine the direction of the community. We are building the complex and the community one resident at a time,” she says.

Not every resident at Horizons is retired, but all enjoy its distinguished amenities.
