Valley Interfaith Council (VIC) provides programs and services for older adults 60+ primarily through its four centers and 14 dining sites in the Greater San Fernando Valley including transportation services, home-delivered meals, case management, resource and referral information, health and wellness activities, and social and recreational events. A Meals on Wheels program is available with no age requirement. Nearly 300,000 meals are served annually. Each Center and many dining sites also offer evidence-based classes in: Healthier Living with Chronic Conditions, UCLA Memory and Walk with Ease, and a balance class. To more effectively meet the increasing needs of seniors in the Valley, VIC partners with the Los Angeles Department of Aging, Department of Recreation and Parks, and other Valley nonprofits that include Partners in Care Foundation and the North Hollywood Food Pantry. VIC is not clergy-based; its tradition is to provide a “bridge to understanding” for people of different faiths and cultures through lectures, discussions and holding commemorative annual events, including a Martin Luther King Day and Gandhi Day.
