Followers and fans of Coral Tree Café had to know this wonderfully consistent restaurant would win “FAVORITE” Cafe sooner or later. The first Coral Tree Café was founded in Brentwood in 2002 to address the need for “a really good, honest, organic breakfast,” says Kevin Khalili, one of the founding partners. It caught on quickly, expanding to Encino and Century City.
It has so faithfully lived up to its mission of providing “healthy, honest, substantial food in a friendly environment” that it’s now in high demand for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Customers range from business professionals to soccer moms, and from couples who like perfectly chilled by-the-glass wine with meals, to entire families who’ve come to regard this open, airy, cheery restaurant as a kitchen-away-from-home. The food is consistently good, always made fresh to order.
There are about 30 items on the breakfast and lunch menus, and delectable dinner specials. Virtually every taste is accommodated: if you want an all egg-white omelet, it’s yours; if you want a panini breakfast sandwich, you can have that, too. Everyone finds something to love, including children: “We all have kids of our own, so we know exactly what kids want,” Khalili says.
