You might think the fabulous family-recipe margaritas are why Los Toros Mexican Restaurant won this category. It’s perfectly true that Los Toros’ margaritas are so delicious they’re in a class by themselves, but that’s only part of the reason this cherished community landmark, founded in 1967 by owner Nick Montaño’s father, earned such coveted distinction. When you drink a margarita at Los Toros, you’re part of a much bigger fiesta – this vibrant place is where friends and family have been sharing good times for generations.
Likewise, Los Toros has always instantly been on the front lines to help the community in harder times, feeding courageous firefighters on its own dime, donating meals to a local horse therapy ranch, raising money for Chatsworth schools, and much more. Sure the margaritas are great – but what puts them over the top is the love Los Toros puts into everything it serves.
Nick Montaño currently serves as Lt. Gov. of the Kiwanis Club of Chatsworth. He and his wife, Lucia Montaño, are both on the Board of Directors. The Kiwanis Club of Chatsworth started in 1994 when a group of service minded men and women came together united in their commitment to and compassion for others.
